    The Faces of Disaster: Meet Red Cross responders and those they serve

    In 2023 the United States had an unprecedented 28 disasters that each caused more than $1 billion in damage. As it always has, the American Red Cross responded, working with local government and community agencies to provide food, shelter and recovery services to those affected.
